Political Correctness

We need to be especially careful of cutting off debate for the sake of political correctness.

And to admit: RMC isn't going to touch some of those sacred cows.

Not sure this belongs here but I have noticed in the past 10 or so years that newspaper articles have resorted to non-direct (as in subject, verb, predicate, with a few adverbs thrown in): Here are some:

  • The absence of toxicity ...
  • The company has taken the view that...
  • While providing better visibility...
  • ... to maintain a relentless focus on sustained value creation..
  • If you don't have a consistency with your actual strategy and what you're doing with your military, that doesn't seem terribly convincing.
  • ... but thus far its efficacy against those illnesses has been demonstrated only in animal studies.
  • ... and should require a conversation with the treating doctors before taking any action.
  • The CFO SAID clients are "just waiting, I think, for more certainty about which direction the administration is going to go and their ability to follow through on some of the promises around managing the cost of employees."
  • Mr. Mattis said adding that as far as "the level of granularity and the level of success they are achieving, I think the jury is still out on that."
  • Over time, I'd like to see us move a little lower in the debt profile
